Wow I can't believe it's already the end of the semester and I'm writing this bog post. Wasn't it a few weeks back when we wrote our first one? Time passed by really quickly this time. I feel pretty sad to know that in a few weeks when I go back up the hill to that portable, it won't be to discuss a new opportunity to give back to the community or make someone's day a bit better and happy like the way we normally live.
I chose this class because 1. I heard about it from my friend 2. I heard it was fun 3. well... I think I wanted to find some way to give back and find ways I can enjoy doing it. I don't think I realized how many things this class has accomplished until now when I needed to write it down. We've been pretty busy planning everything and then actually doing as we planned. I think the "doing" part was the most exciting. Not just for obvious reasons that we planned it all so obviously we were going to pick corn or sell mustaches we cut up. When we actually started picking the corn, planting trees, or collecting donations, no matter what it was, somehow our class managed to make it fun. We would find ways to joke around and changed things up to make it like a game (although some involved actually getting hit by the corn). I've laughed a lot in this class and that's what I always looked forward to when I walked to class, finding a new way to not worry about anything and just laugh and enjoy what I'm doing. The best part was that I was having fun for a good cause. We were helping clean up the school in the cold, and still laughed; we bought gifts and food for a family to make their Christmas just a little more special; we got scratched by Christmas tries as we attempted to set them up and make the school a little more festive. Leadership has given me many precious memories in the first half of grade 11.
As for the grade part of thinks (haha), I've never missed or skipped a class except for the one day I was really sick. Hmm..... I participate in class, show up, and try to bring some energy when I come it. It's a little harder this time of the year to be all bright when you walk in, the past weeks have been pretty stressful with projects, test, and the there are exams and provincials coming up too. I try though haha. I think if I were to turn my experience and work into a percentage number for a grade... I think I deserve somewhere around a 93%-95%. I'm not too sure if that's accurate because its hard to grade your own work. I've had these sort of problems since grade 8 PE haha. So I think 93-95% sounds about right ^.^
It's great that you have such a creative mind :) I'm sure that you'll stay amazing after this class and continue to grow as a leader!
ReplyDelete"I think a leader is someone who can create a safe, free environment for others..." I like this declaration from your legacy as it is something that I subscribe to as well. Having a safe environment in which members felt safe to take risks was central to our success as a glass. It was the prerequisite for the meaningful learning that you are all citing in your legacies. Your essay was very thorough btw and I thank you for investing so much thought and reflection. Thanks for all that you brought to our class dynamic Suesha.
